Silambam Houston's newest thematic presentation, 'Ramaneeyam', premiered in the hallowed Chennai Margazhi season in December 2025 under the auspices of Kartik Fine Arts. By popular demand, we will be making the video available for a short time through our ArtStream platform.

'Ramaneeyam' seeks to explore a profound truth: that true goodness and inner radiance are not defined by how others see us, but by what lies within. Beginning with a beloved and classic description of the quintessential beauty of Rama, the production pivots to challenging the singular view of his righteousness, through a contemplation on the idea that an action deemed principled by one can be perceived as questionable by another.
The production, conceived and choreographed by our Guru Dr. Lavanya Rajagopalan, features a musical landscape that includes the compositions of Saint Thyagaraja and Padmabhushan Vidwan Madurai Shri N. Krishnan, as well as a new composition set to music by Shri Pranav Praveen and Shri Naga Srinidhi Kuruvada to the evocative lyrics of Smt Nirmala Jayaraman.

The Silambam Houston dancers who traveled to Chennai to present this performance are Karthika Haridas, Ariya Shah, Rishveda Shinoj, Reethi Kavaipatti, and Dr. Lavanya Rajagopalan.
